A U.S. and Canadian immigration lawyer practicing in Toronto, Andy has spent decades helping thousands of clients navigate some of the most complex legal challenges in immigration. He previously practiced law in Los Angeles for 10 years and New York for five, and is a member of the bars of New York, California, Ontario, and British Columbia.
Beyond the courtroom, Andy is also a widely read writer. As a longtime Forbes columnist on immigration, his articles have been read by more than one million readers, breaking down complicated legal and policy issues into clear, compelling stories. Earlier in his career, he worked as a United Nations correspondent covering immigration and human rights and wrote for Canada’s Southam newspaper chain.
Andy is also the author of four books, including Solomea: Star of Opera’s Golden Age, A Promise Kept: A Tribute to a Mother’s Love, The Young Professional, and a book on comedy. His writing blends history, law, personal storytelling, and culture.
A Distinguished Toastmaster and former member of both the U.S. National Speakers Association and the Canadian Professional Speakers Association, Andy has delivered presentations and lectures on communication, law, and human potential. He has also taught at the University of British Columbia and is a Fellow of the Ukrainian Catholic University.
