This is Her story:
Originally from Peru, my mother and I decided to immigrate to the United States when I was 10. All my life I dreamt of having an office job with a sweet 65k year salary. My mind never went further than that, in fact, making 6 figures was something only famous people made. Thinking about being an entrepreneur was never in my radar, I always thought you had to have a powerful dad, or be born into the right family.
After years of self-improvement seminars and learning from books, I finally started understanding life can be so much more and got rid of all the "stories" I had around money, success, and career. One of my biggest goals is to help others understand economic background, ethnicity, and upbringing are not barriers to entrepreneurship, in fact, they are the fuel.
I refer to this as the "immigrant guilt", the idea that if you do not do something incredibly huge, the effort and sacrifice of your parent was in vain. I have been able to turn this "guilt" into motivation and this is what has driven me to grow a successful e-Commerce brand from scratch.
Now, I want to help others do the same.
