About Me

I am a research chemist at the University of Warwick (PhD and MChem). I specialise in medical diagnostics, cryogenics, public engagement and drug design.

I am an inventor of new types of lateral flow diagnostics and have expertise in using and designing lateral flow devices for medical diagnostics. It is hoped this technology can be deployed in less economically developed countries and remote environments to deliver universal healthcare for all. Alongside this I work on designing materials to improve the freezing of blood and organs to support the health service and others.

I am an invited speaker for The Training Partnership, a national educational conferencing company, and speak across the country on my research and broader science topics. I have done recorded lectures and live online delivery during the pandemic and for external companies and events, such as Pint of Science and Nerdnite. I am a founding fellow of the Warwick Institute of Engagement - an institute at the University of Warwick that brings public engagement experts together.
