You know the saying ‘be the change you want to see in the world’? Well, that’s what inspired this podcast.
WHY?
Annette created this podcast to capture the unfiltered voices of Black and Brown Women living with ADHD. Over time, it has evolved to include the voices of all members of the BIPOC community. By sharing our stories and experiences, the Melanated ADHD podcast aims to reshape perceptions of how ADHD impacts those within our communities and explore pathways to flourish and thrive.
When Annette was diagnosed with ADHD - Predominately Inattentive subtype in late 2023, she quickly noticed the lack of content catering to BIPOC with ADHD, specifically Black and Brown Women with ADHD, given the already existing stigma around neurodivergence and mental health within their communities. Educating the masses is crucial to recognizing symptoms in BIPOC, especially girls and women, ensuring they have access to the necessary tools and resources to thrive in their communities.
