Scott Terry is a gay cowboy, and award-winning author of Cowboys, Armageddon, and The Truth: How a Gay Child was Saved From Religion. His rodeo gear, clothing, and championship buckles are in the permanent collection of the Autry Museum of the American West (Los Angeles), and currently on display in the museum’s Imagined Wests exhibit. Scott writes from a historical perspective on being gay in the rural west, at a time when rural America was often hostile to the rising awareness of the LGBT presence, and is available to podcasters who wish to discuss the western LGBT experience. His memoir (Cowboys), was named “Top 20 Must Read” books by Advocate magazine, and was named “Best LGBT Fiction” and “Best Gay Debut” by the Rainbow Book awards. Scott’s new fiction novel, The Gift, is scheduled for release in February 2025.
