Romell Parks-Weekly

I have been a spiritual leader (traditionally: pastor) since 2002, and my church has been LGBTQ+ affirming since 2009. I'm an Overseer in the international fellowship of which I am a part--Church of the Everlasting Kingdom. I hold an MDiv (Master of Divinity) degree and am currently in a ThD (Doctor of Theology) program. I've written 3 books addressing the controversial issue of Christianity and homosexuality, and have taught affirming theology at conferences and seminars around the country. I'm open for conversation, respectful debate, and other ways of engaging fellow Christians and challenging our long-held traditions that have so often led to the marginalization of too many.

I believe in the power of people using their privilege to work to dismantle the very systems that gave them that privilege, including men working to dismantle patriarchy, straight people working to dismantle homophobia, white people to dismantle racism, and cisgender people to dismantle transphobia. There's much to be done, and as a Black, openly gay spiritual leader, I look forward to contributing to these important conversations on your podcast.
