“After twenty-two years with Motorola, in the USA, and EMEA, I started 2 management and technology consultancies Driving Vision being one.”
MA Consulting International (MA). was the first technology consultancy firm I created.
The goals of MA were to set us apart from the competition as a technology solutions provider offering the highest quality of service in our niche markets, adding maximum value to our clients by operating a franchise network and partnering with universities.
In 2016, the MA Business Process Redesign and Technology practice expanded into virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and artificial intelligence (AI). We entered the VR market to develop the processes of planning and selling non-existing property and developing town planning in the same way IKEA brought kitchens to life with its virtual environment. Balfour Beatty was making use of VR engineering in its planning and prototyping phases.
Virtual and augmented reality, at the time, allowed consumers to experience things in an enhanced way, whether by simulating an experience or providing new layers of depth to an existing one. AR was making important progress, VR was becoming accessible thanks to increased computing power and cheaper hardware, and artificial intelligence was mature. AI combined with the other two provided endless possibilities for our clients.
In November 2017, Driving Vision Group was formed to enter the virtual reality (VR) market in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. Our targeted markets were the USA and the United Kingdom.
We have created a multi-talented team with proven records.
We all share the same passion and vision for this exciting venture. Our initial vision was:
We drive growth, cost reduction, and investors’ and stakeholders’ interests for our customers’ organizations by advising and training them on the use of immersive technologies.
In 2018 Driving Vision decided that VR was a great technology, but the construction industry was not ready to pay for it. So, we developed building information modeling (BIM) services for small and large practices, including our proprietary virtual reality software. We asked for the help of universities, and we added an architect to the team to design relevant solutions.
In 2019 we entered the market and built relationships with BIM software partners and cloud solution providers to complete our offerings.
Talking to our network of architects, program managers, contractors, client representatives, and many others helped us to develop innovative solutions to manage change, minimize waste, and reduce risks on construction projects.
We decided to share our methodology with you in this book, so that after reading it you may:
