“Agoraphobia survivor and mental health warrior. I'll share my recovery using mindfulness, breathing techniques and the power of positivity.”
Hi I'm Debbie. During lockdown I experienced severe agoraphobia and couldn't leave the house. I couldn't even go out into the garden. Trying to open the front door could give me a panic attack. I found mindfulness through Mind Cymru and researched it further. I have found techniques that work for me. It's not just mindfulness that works, breathing techniques and the power of positivity help too. I have created a mental health tool kit full of the techniques I find work best for me.
I would like to chat to you about having agoraphobia, my recovery and my life as it is now.
I have gone from someone who couldn’t go to the front door without panicking to someone who can drive 60 miles away from home and spend a weekend at a retreat with complete strangers. Mindfulness is power. It has changed my life.
I teach fitness classes to a roomful of people.
I teach swimming lessons in a loud environment with other lessons happening alongside me.
I teach in several different venues.
Four years ago I wouldn't have been able to do this. Mindfulness saved my life and I want to share it with everyone.
