Cory McGookin

With over 20 years of experience in law enforcement, including serving as the Chief of the FBI National Academy—one of the world’s premier leadership programs—I have honed a deep understanding of what makes effective leadership across a variety of environments. My approach goes beyond traditional methods, incorporating emotional intelligence, the DiSC profile, and insights from psychology and human evolution to understand how the brain drives behavior. I’m passionate about using this knowledge to help leaders at all levels unlock their full potential.

While my background in law enforcement provides a unique perspective, my leadership philosophy and expertise transcend any one field. I focus on building leaders who are grounded, adaptable, and capable of navigating today’s rapidly changing world. I’ve worked tirelessly to become a subject matter expert in leadership—studying everything from the evolution of human behavior to the practical applications of AI in leadership. As a certified coach, I integrate this expertise into my work, empowering leaders to make better decisions, engage with their teams, and lead with empathy.

Coming from humble beginnings and working my way up, I embody the idea that true leadership is built through consistent effort over time. My journey—from enlisting in the Air Force to becoming a senior leader in the FBI—demonstrates that leadership growth is a gradual process that requires commitment, resilience, and the willingness to put in the work.
