Dr. Weisman started the podcast because she couldn’t find anything or anyone out there that 100% understood her situation as a female physician struggling with burnout. She wanted to give others the reassurance that you are going to be ok and you are NOT crazy or broken for wanting something different. She wanted to tell others like her, change is possible. She’s living proof. No one was talking about burnout in a practical, tangible way. She needed and wanted clear action steps, not lofty concepts. She wanted to spread her experience and knowledge from her own life and the work that she was doing with clients to others on a broader scale. She wanted to add my voice to the physician wellness discussion. She wanted to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.
