Lauren’s Spitfire spark was lit at the age of 12 when she started her first company. When a family divorce threatened her financial security in paying for college, she accessed her skills to make money and Happy Hats was born! She honed her design and production process and used the proceeds to support herself through college venturing into designer markets in New York City and selling her goods out of a suitcase.
For 15 years Lauren has developed a deep and strategic relationship with leaders in Fortune 100 companies. The past 5 years have spent coaching leaders at healthcare and philanthropic think tanks, global energy firms and leading tech companies.
Lauren is an MCC ICF-accredited coach with more than 3,000 hours working with hundreds of clients from Fortune 100, technology, non-profits, design, startups, real estate, oil and gas, and entertainment.
Prior to becoming a coach, Lauren served as Executive Director of three trade associations and has over 20 years of entrepreneurial experience, which inspired her to work with overloaded professionals and executives and write her book, “Spitting Fire: Your Guide to Reignite Your Passion at Home, Work and Beyond”.
Lauren believes that learning is a continuous process that works best with individual curiosity and collective application. Her fascination and love of human development was incubated at Rutgers University where she received a BA in Sociology. She knows that strong human connection through community- building and approachable leadership is the success factor that causes organizations to exponentially grow.
Lauren received her coach training at The Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC). She received her Master Certified Coach (PCC) credential from The International Coaching Federation (ICF) in 2021.
Lauren is a Myers-Briggs Certified Practitioner (MBTI-CP), Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner (ELI-MP), and a Release Resentment Certified Practitioner (RRCP).
When she’s not coaching, you can find Lauren hosting The SpitFire Podcast; facilitating The SpitFire Circle for Small Business Owners; or rapping throughout the DC Metro area in a Bluegrass Americana band as JRSY FRSH. Lauren has been featured on CNN, Aljazeera English, Reuters, Yahoo News, The Washington Post, Washingtonian Magazine and DC Magazine.
