“Dog training for over 30 years without using treats or "might is right" (dominance). The key is learning to work with people correctly.”
In addition to full-time companion dog training for over 30 years, I've had a nationally syndicated pet behavior newspaper column (Ask The Dog Guy), a weekly radio show (Pet Talk Live) trained dogs for a television series (Due South). There's a lot more, but I don't want so much to impress you, but instead impress upon you that my experience is considerable and not as so often the case in the industry, simply a love of dogs accompanied by a t-shirt saying I'm a trainer that I wear on weekends to make pin money parroting ideologies. I'm the real deal.
I have been on the board of directors for two training associations, The International Association of Canine Professionals and the Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers. I have taught many veterinary students and provided continuing education credits to registered veterinary technicians at their annual conferences. I designed the employee safety around dogs programs for Canada Post and the Ontario Municipal Law Enforcement Officers and provided consultant services to Children’s Aid/Child Services. I’ve also written several books.
I’m also an extremely experienced speaker known to bring a fair amount of humor to the topic of companion dogs.
Historically my appearance on various radio shows, “Ask The Expert,” on both local and nationally broadcast shows (CBC Radio) has proven popular enough that I have been repeatedly invited back. In part because the topic of dogs is typically always a favorite, but I do bring a welcome take and style to the topic as well. I believe I can be a caliber of guest that would prove popular to your listeners and reflect well on your podcast.
There are so many topics I believe are worth discussing.
