I'm a Los Angeles-based commercial real estate broker, investor and property owner. Seven months months ago I decided to leave an 18-year career in media/tech for commercial real estate. I left 18 years of client partnerships and a solid paycheck for the unknown. They told me it could take 1-2 years (or never) to close my first building. No one said this industry was going to be easy. After six months, I closed my first real estate transaction, a 50-unit building in Los Angeles for $14.64M. The moral of this story is it’s never too late to start over, go out and take calculated risks, and go with your gut. Life is short.
