About Me

Eerik co-founded Planet42 with Marten Orgna in 2017 with the ambition of fighting transport inequality in emerging markets like South Africa. His vision for a socially impactful business is simple - empower people to reach their full potential by fulfilling basic mobility needs like commuting to work. His company recently raised $100M. The funds will enable Planet42 to rapidly scale its business and meet its ambition of providing 1 million cars worldwide.

Before founding Planet42, Eerik was Country Manager of Estonia for alternative vehicle finance firm, Eleving Group. During his tenure at Eleving, he turned the Estonian business into the best-performing branch for the group. Prior to that, he worked as an investor relations specialist for farming organization Agromino, and as an analyst and business development specialist at investment management firm Trigon Capital.

Eerik grew up in Räpina, a small town in rural Estonia. After graduating high school and completing military service, he got his bachelor’s degree at the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga. As a member of the Estonian Founders Society, Eerik maintains close ties with his home country’s startup community.

Eerik can offer unique insights on:

  • How mobility can improve the lives of millions of people in the emerging middle-classes
  • Planet42’s unique take on car subscriptions that create inclusion, not just convenience
  • Transport inequality in South Africa, Mexico and beyond
  • Creditworthiness and the difficulty in getting vehicle and other finance
  • Update on Planet42 traction and future plans
