About Me

When I was 17 I founded my own startup. It was called Intern and it helped students find design jobs. I raised 65k from investors and shortly after realized that I had no idea how to run a company. Long story short - Intern failed.

I spent the last 10 years traveling, explore, starting businesses - only to find myself running Design Match. A company that matches designers with work at tech start ups. It feels like I have come full circle, now with the skills and experience my 17 year old self could only dream of.

During those last 10 years I've travelled around the world and am now living in Bali. First leaving Canada after being offered my first full time job as the Head of Design of a multinational corporation. Realizing that if I took that job, I would be giving up so much more than just my day. I would be giving up on a dream that I was meant to do more, to help more.

I have run Design Club, an empowerment community for designers and creatives to connect. Dream Team, a company that connect ambitious start ups with their dream product team. Studio Moku, a design agency who work has been used by over 300M users and has helped companies raise over 200M in funding. Freelance Travel Network, an online course and community that teaches freelancers how to find work that really inspires then. And now Design Match - a matchmaking company committed to finding designers inspiring work. The ethos is - if we empower the people who create our world, maybe they'll choose to create a better one.

In my journey around the world I have also done Ayahuasca in the amazon in Peru. Iboga with my mom in cottage country Canada.

Each of these experiences has connected me more to myself, my purpose and my innate desire to give.

Getting into business so young, as an ADHD women - as a women of colour - has brought its share of challenges. From worrying about showing up to a meeting with my natural hair to wondering if my client is hitting on me.

I'm excited to share my story.

Maybe it will empower a designer. Help someone decide to travel. Leave a women of colour with the feeling like she's not alone. Or show someone how plant medicine can be used for good.

Either way, I'm happy to share.
