About Me

As Leaders we sometimes feel like we are running backwards on a treadmill...dealing with the same personnel issues over and over. We have read lots of leadership books, taken courses, but it's really hard to "apply" all the strategies into real life situations with real teams and employees.

It was for this reason that I have invested my 25 years of experience as an HR professional, Senior Manager, facilitator, coach and mediator into AUTHORING a practical business guide and book called Knowing Who You Lead. I share with readers 20 important lessons on how to better identify your own leadership style, understand HOW it impacts others, learn how to better understand WHY your methods may not be effective with certain employees, how to increase TRUST and communication, break down barriers and biases, increase retention, and inspire organizational growth.

I have a business entitled Inspiring Organizational Growth in which I provide leaders and teams one/one coaching. I equate what I do to the game of hockey. My analogy is simple "I am not here to teach you how to skate or the rules of the game (you already know that). I am here to watch from the bleachers and observe coaching habits and team synergy (my consultant services), then I will sit with on the bench during the game and help you learn more about the team and address key issues impacting your ability to "win" (my one/one coaching services), I will provide team building exercises (training and facilitation services) AND if certain players or lines are not getting along we can get to the root of the issues and rebuild needed relationships (mediation services).

I thoroughly enjoy teaching and coaching leaders and teams on how to better engage in tough conversations, and get to the root of issues impacting their success. As a trained mediator, I help leaders understand the underlying interests and needs of employees. In the creation of my book I conducted a survey on "What Makes An Effective Leader". The responses have been integrated into my book as objective evidence of WHAT we need to address and WHY people leave organizations.

As an HR specialist I recognize that PEOPLE are the backbone to every organization. Learning how to leverage your employees, include them in decision making, innovative problem solving, and customer service strategies will ONLY enrich your Organization and provide you with those needed wins.
