About Me

Ann is a writer, linguist, and former professor. Twice a wife, once a widow, she's a mother and grandmother. She has traveled and lived in many countries and speaks six languages.

Her second memoir, The Sweet Pain of Being Alive, takes us on a remarkable journey as she uncovers why—after 13 happily married years—her beloved Terry killed himself. As her gut-wrenching search deepens, her views on gender, sex, marriage, right, wrong, good, and bad start to shift.

Her first memoir, Daring to Date Again, won multiple prizes for memoir, and her story, Precious Love, was nominated for the Pushcart Prize. Ann has appeared on television, radio, and podcasts, including appearances on the Discovery Channel's Sex in America special and NPR's Author's Corner.

She lives with her Sealyham Terrier Gus in Vermont.
